Wednesday morning MVA on South Arkansas Avenue

At approximately 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, the Russellville Police Department, Russellville Fire Department and Pope County EMS responded to 2750 South Arkansas Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident that had occurred.

On December 15, 2011, more than four years after his acquittal in the Dirksmeyer murder trial, Plaintiff, Kevin Jones, filed a Complaint against Defendants Mark Frost, Gary Dunn and James Bacon after Kevin Jones went to trial and was acquitted of the December 2005 murder of Nona Dirksmeyer, a nineteen year old Arkansas Tech University student.

Noon hour accident with injury occurs on North Arkansas Avenue

RUSSELLVILLE, AR (June 24, 2015) - It’s time again for fireworks. According to the Russellville Fire Department and the National Fire Protection Association, each July 4th, thousands of people, often children and teens, are injured while using consumer fireworks.

Woman faces felony charge after coin machines are damaged at car wash

Julia Cody, 33, appeared in a felony bond hearing before District Court Judge Don Bourne on Monday, June 22, following her arrest by the Pope County Sheriff's Office. Cody appeared in the hearing accused of Criminal Mischief following the filing of formal charges in Pope County Circuit Court by the Fifth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

RHS cheerleaders attend National Cheerleading Association (NCAA) performance camp in Hot Springs

The Russellville High School cheerleaders recently attended the National Cheerleading Association (NCAA) performance camp in Hot Springs at the Bank of the Ozarks Arena.  The team received multiple awards including the S.A.F.E. stunt safe award, technical excellence in stunts and pyramid, 16 All-American nominees and nine All-American team members, four superior ribbons for evaluations, and earned 2nd place in the Medium Varsity competition. The RHS cheer team Also received a bid to attend the NCAA National Competition that will be held in the spring of 2016.
